Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-05-09 · Version v1.0 (caregiver) / v1.1 (self-managed)
By creating a senior-bridge account or sending messages through this service, you agree to the following terms. If you do not agree, do not create an account or send messages. This summary mirrors the Terms presented inside the senior-bridge dashboard at signup.
1. What this service is
senior-bridge is a leak-prevention-focused SMS companion service. It allows a caregiver to enroll an elderly relative or friend ("Senior") and have an AI-driven assistant exchange friendly text messages with that Senior. SMS delivery is provided by Twilio. AI replies are generated by Anthropic and/or Google models. The service is currently in invite-only beta.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a contract. You may only register Seniors with whom you have a legitimate caregiving relationship, and you must have either (a) the Senior's informed consent to receive automated messages from this service, or (b) durable power of attorney or equivalent legal authority. The service is intended for use within the United States; SMS delivery to non-US numbers is not supported.
3. Phone numbers and consent
You represent and warrant that any phone number you register for a Senior is owned or controlled by that Senior, and that the Senior has consented to receive automated messages at that number. Verifying the phone number via the in-app verification code is REQUIRED before message scheduling becomes active. You will instruct the Senior how to opt out (reply STOP) and you will not re-register a number that has previously opted out.
4. Cost and billing
During beta, senior-bridge is free. After public launch, paid plans will be billed monthly via a regulated processor (Stripe). The free trial period is 30 days from account creation; pricing is not yet finalized and will be communicated in advance of any charge.
5. Acceptable use
You will NOT use senior-bridge to: (a) send unsolicited messages to anyone who has not consented; (b) send commercial, political, or fundraising messages; (c) impersonate a real human in a deceptive way; (d) deliver content that is harmful, harassing, or unlawful; (e) attempt to bypass the leak-prevention safeguards (deny-list, allowlist, audit log); or (f) enroll a Senior without legitimate caregiving authority.
6. AI content
Messages composed by senior-bridge are generated by large-language-model providers and are NOT reviewed by a human prior to delivery. Output may occasionally be inaccurate, off-tone, or otherwise imperfect. The caregiver remains responsible for monitoring the conversation log and intervening when appropriate.
7. NOT a medical, mental-health, or emergency service
senior-bridge is NOT a medical device, mental-health provider, or emergency-response service. We are NOT a covered entity under HIPAA. If a Senior expresses suicidal intent, severe pain, or any other emergency, you must respond personally and contact appropriate professionals. Always call 911 (or your local emergency number) for emergencies. The senior-bridge classifier and caregiver-alert system are best-effort safety nets, not replacements for human care.
8. Data and privacy
See the Privacy Policy. In summary: we keep what we need to run the service, we don't sell it, you can ask us to delete it.
9. Cancellation
You may cancel any senior account at any time from the dashboard. We delete the senior's profile and associated data within 24 hours. We may retain a non-identifying audit-log entry that the deletion occurred.
10. Suspension
The instance operator may suspend, deactivate, or delete a caregiver account at any time for violations of these terms or for any other reason. Audit logs of past activity may be retained even after account deletion.
11. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
SENIOR-BRIDGE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE MESSAGE DELIVERY, AVAILABILITY, OR ACCURACY OF AI OUTPUT. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR DIRECT DAMAGES IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PRIOR 12 MONTHS, OR $50 IF YOU PAID NOTHING.
12. Self-managed account notice
The above sections govern caregiver-managed accounts. If you create a self-managed account (the senior is the account owner), you additionally acknowledge:
- This service provides AI companionship via SMS, NOT medical care or emergency response.
- The classifier scans your messages for safety concerns and may attempt to escalate to your designated emergency contact.
- Without an emergency contact configured, no escalation is possible. The service can only respond to you.
- If you have any medical emergency, mental-health crisis, or urgent safety concern, call 911 (or your local emergency number) immediately. The service is not a replacement for emergency services.
- You may add, edit, or remove your emergency contact at any time in Settings.
13. Changes
These terms may be updated. Continued use after a new version is published constitutes acceptance of the new terms. Material changes will be communicated to active users by email and/or in-dashboard notice.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, USA. Any dispute arising from these terms or use of the service will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Jefferson County, Kentucky.
15. Contact
Questions or notice of disputes: [email protected].
By using senior-bridge, you acknowledge that you have read and accept these terms.
