Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-05-09
senior-bridge is a small, independent service. This policy describes โ in plain English โ what data we collect, what we do with it, and what rights you have. We aim for short and honest over long and lawyered.
1. Who runs this
senior-bridge is operated by Ted Yopp, an individual based in Louisville, Kentucky. Contact: [email protected]. There is no parent company, no board, and no investors. The service is currently in invite-only beta.
2. What we collect
- Account data โ caregiver name, email, hashed password.
- Senior profile โ the senior's name, phone number, time zone, ZIP code, and any context the caregiver enters (faith, things they love, things to avoid, etc.).
- Conversations โ every SMS sent or received between senior-bridge and the senior, with timestamps.
- Caregiver contacts โ additional caregivers' names, phone numbers, and email addresses if the primary caregiver invites them.
- Audit log โ every send attempt, every classification result, every alert, every login. This exists for safety and accountability.
- Waitlist โ if you sign up via this site, we store your email address, the page you came from, your user-agent, and the IP that submitted the form. That's it.
3. What we do NOT collect
- We do not use Google Analytics, Meta pixels, or any third-party analytics scripts on this marketing site.
- We do not buy or sell mailing lists.
- We do not request, store, or process payment-card numbers ourselves; if/when paid plans launch, payments will go through a regulated processor (Stripe) and we'll never see card data.
4. How we use it
- To send the daily companion messages and answer replies.
- To send caregiver alerts when the safety classifier flags a message as watch, urgent, or emergency.
- To send the optional weekly summary email to caregivers who opted in.
- To diagnose problems, prevent abuse, and investigate any reports of harm.
- To send a single launch-announcement email to people on the waitlist when the service opens to the public.
5. Who we share it with
Two third parties touch your data, and only what is necessary to deliver the service:
- SMS carrier โ Twilio (10DLC registered) delivers the actual text messages. They process the senior's phone number and the message body.
- LLM provider โ Anthropic and/or Google process recent conversation context to generate each reply. We send only the relevant message history, not your full account.
We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third party. We will not respond to law-enforcement requests except as required by valid legal process; if we ever do, we will attempt to notify the affected user unless prohibited from doing so.
6. Where it lives
All data is stored encrypted on US-based servers. Conversation history and audit events live in a SQLite database on the operator's hardware. Backups, if any, follow the same encryption rules.
7. How long we keep it
- Active accounts โ data is retained for as long as the account is active.
- Cancellation โ when an account or senior profile is deleted, we remove personal data within 24 hours. We may retain a non-identifying audit-log entry that the deletion happened.
- Waitlist โ waitlist emails are kept until either (a) we send the launch announcement and you don't sign up, after which we'll purge them within 60 days, or (b) you ask us to remove your email earlier.
8. Your rights
You can ask us to: see what data we have about you, correct it, or delete it entirely. Email [email protected] from the address on file and we'll respond within a reasonable time (we aim for under a week).
If you are a California resident covered by the CCPA: you have the right to know what personal information we collect and to request deletion. We do not sell personal information, so the "do not sell" right does not apply. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (COPPA); senior-bridge is intended for adult caregivers and adult seniors.
9. Cookies
The senior-bridge marketing site (this domain) sets no cookies. The senior-bridge service itself sets a session cookie when caregivers log in to the dashboard; that cookie is required for the service to function and is not used for tracking.
10. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and โ for changes that meaningfully affect existing users โ email a notice to caregiver accounts.
11. Contact
Questions, requests, or concerns: [email protected].
